Canine Cancer Fundraiser Calendar
The inspiration to create a canine cancer fundraiser calendar came from the heartbreaking loss of my beloved little dog, Kiko. In July of 2014 my world was turned upside down when my Kiko was diagnosed with cancer; an aggressive malignant oral melanoma. We did all we could to try to give him a fighting chance and he was such a brave and strong little boy, but in the end, the cancer won, and I lost my little Kiko in July 2015. I was devastated and felt completely helpless to prevent it. For months I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t move on, I couldn’t even pick up my camera. Kiko was my inspiration and one of the reasons I became a photographer. He was much more than a pet, he was my heart and my world.
Earlier this year I decided that I wanted to do something not only to motivate me to keep moving forward, but also to honor the memory of that very special dog. It is a helpless feeling when your faithful companion is diagnosed with cancer and you don’t know what to do or where to turn. Cancer is so prevalent in dogs and too often the prognosis is not good. For this reason all proceeds for the canine cancer fundraiser calendar will go toward the continued fight against canine cancer through research and awareness.
By purchasing one of these unique calendars, you will help make a difference in finding a cure and better treatments for all types of canine cancers. All proceeds from the sale of these calendars will go directly to the National Canine Cancer Foundation, where funds support the goal of eliminating cancer as a major health problem in dogs through education, awareness, and research. Updates on the donation allocation will be reported both on this page and in a special blog post at the completion of the fundraiser project.
